How we think. What we build.

Three clients. Three different businesses. One consistent approach. We start with the owner's vision, the customer's reality, and build from there.

Every project below began with the same question: "What problem did you build this business to solve?" The answer shaped everything that followed.

Blanche Beauty

blanchebeauty.co.za

Premium beauty and aesthetics studio

The brief

Blanche Beauty needed a digital presence that matched the standard of their in-studio experience. Their existing online footprint did not reflect the quality of the treatments or the calibre of the clientele they were building toward. The owner had a clear sense of what the brand should feel like. The question was how to translate that into something a customer would experience before they ever walked through the door.

What we understood

Premium beauty clients in Pretoria are making a trust decision before they book. They are not comparing prices. They are asking: does this business understand the standard I expect? The website had to answer yes before the customer asked the question.

What we built

  • Custom PHP website with native booking system — no third-party booking tool with its own branding disrupting the experience
  • Yoco payment integration for seamless in-flow deposits and consultation fees
  • 8-module PHP and MySQL CRM built and deployed on cPanel hosting — client records, appointment history, treatment notes
  • Service pages written to convert, not to catalogue — each treatment page structured around the customer's concern, not the service name
  • Technical SEO foundation with local schema, Google Business Profile integration, and page speed optimisation
Outcome

A digital experience that qualifies the right client before they book and gives the business a professional system to manage them after they do.

Booked and Beautiful

bookedandbeautiful.co.za

Premium braids and natural hair salon · Willow Park Manor, Pretoria East

The brief

Booked and Beautiful is a premium natural hair salon that competes in a market where the majority of competitors rely on word of mouth and social media alone. The owner wanted a digital presence that would attract clients who understood and would pay for the quality of care on offer, and that would position the salon as the destination for natural hair in Pretoria East, not just another braiding option.

What we understood

Natural hair clients in South Africa carry specific anxieties: scalp health, longevity of the style, finding someone who knows their hair type. The site had to address each of these before the customer raised them, and do so in a way that felt warm and expert rather than clinical or defensive. The style-specific booking architecture was the key insight. Clients do not book "a braid appointment." They book a specific style. Meeting them at that level of specificity signals that the salon understands natural hair, not just hair.

What we built

  • Full homepage rebuild with JSON-LD schema and local SEO targeting Pretoria East and Willow Park Manor search terms
  • 14 style-specific booking pages generated programmatically — each written for the customer searching that specific style, not a generic service list
  • Style picker with URL parameter handoff to the correct booking page — customers land on their style, not a menu
  • Single-file HTML CRM with hair health tracking, chemical history, appointment management, loyalty tier system, and staff management
  • Brand strategy covering referral programme, TikTok as primary cold discovery channel, pricing architecture, and a CSI matric dance initiative
  • Instagram and WhatsApp Stories carousels for price increase announcement — framed around value rather than cost
Outcome

A digital system that attracts the right clients, converts them at the right price point, and gives the salon the infrastructure to manage and retain them over time.

Potent Exclusives

potentexclusives.co.za

Premium lifestyle and fragrance brand · Gauteng

The brief

Potent Exclusives operates in the premium lifestyle and fragrance space, a market where perception is everything and where a brand that looks like it belongs at a higher price point will command one. The challenge was building a digital presence that felt genuinely exclusive rather than aspirationally so. The difference between those two things is visible to the target customer within seconds.

What we understood

Premium lifestyle buyers do not need to be convinced to spend. They need to feel that what they are buying is worthy of them. The website's job was not to explain the product — it was to create an environment in which the product felt inevitable. Scarcity, restraint, and visual authority were the design principles. Every element that could be removed was.

What we built

  • Brand identity system establishing visual language, colour palette, and typographic voice for a premium SA lifestyle brand
  • Custom website designed around scarcity and restraint — dark, editorial, product-forward
  • Collection architecture that creates the sense of curation rather than catalogue — the visitor feels selected, not sold to
  • Technical SEO foundation targeting premium lifestyle and fragrance search terms across Gauteng
  • Product page structure built to convert high-consideration buyers — detail where it earns trust, restraint where detail would undermine it
Outcome

A brand presence that positions Potent Exclusives in the tier it belongs in, rather than the tier its price point alone would suggest.

What this demonstrates

The thinking
behind the work

We start with the customer, not the brief

Every project above began with questions about the end customer, not the deliverable. Who are they? What do they fear? What does trust look like for them before they spend? The answer to those questions shapes every design decision that follows.

The brief is a starting point, not an instruction

Blanche Beauty did not ask for a CRM. Booked and Beautiful did not ask for 14 style-specific pages. Potent Exclusives did not ask for a scarcity-led information architecture. We found these things by understanding the business deeply enough to know what it needed before the owner knew to ask for it.

Design that serves the business, not the portfolio

Three very different businesses. Three visually and structurally distinct websites. None of them look like a Nolm template, because there is no Nolm template. Each site is the result of the specific business it was built for, understood deeply enough to produce something that could not have come from anywhere else.

Technical capability that matches the creative ambition

Native booking systems, payment integration, custom CRMs, programmatic page generation, schema markup, local SEO architecture. We do not hand the technical work to a third party or default to a platform because it is easier. We build what the business needs.

How every project starts

The same
first question.
Every time.

"What problem did you build this business to solve?"

Not "what does the website need to look like." Not "what is your budget." Not "what pages do you need."

The answer to that question is the foundation every Nolm project is built on. Everything else follows from it.
